Calculation of TNEA Cut Off 2020

The authority will release the TNEA Cut Off 2020 on the basis of class 12th score of Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. In the same way, the weightage for Mathematics is 50% while the combined weightage of Physics and Chemistry is 50% i.e 25% for each of the two subjects. There are no TNEA 2020 eligibility criteria on the basis of the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission Cut Off mark to apply for admission. Previous Year TNEA Cut off

Anna University will announce the  TNEA Previous year cut off marks. Likewise, as per the opening and closing marks of the candidates, the minimum cut off marks will be released and it will be as per the branch wise for candidates. Hence, there are 6 participating institutes showing the opening and closing rank of the candidates.

Seat Allocation Process

Selection is under seven categories namely OC, BC, BCM (BC Muslim), MBC & DNC, SC, SCA and ST reservation following the rules of reservation of Government of Tamil Nadu as follows.

  • Open Competition – 31%
  • Backward Class – 26.50%
  • Backward Class Muslim – 3.50%
  • Most Backward Class & Denotified Communities – 20%
  • Scheduled Caste – 15%
  • Caste (Arunthathiyars) – 3%
  • Tribes – 1%

TNEA Merit List 2020

The University will release a TNEA Merit List 2020. Similarly, the list is on the basis of the score in class 12th. Likewise, the marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will be reduced to  200. Obviously, if 2 or more applicant scores same marks then an inter-se merit list will be released. This list will determine in the following order:

  • Firstly, the percentage of marks in Mathematics
  • The Percentage of marks in Physics
  • Similarly, the percentage of marks in an Optional subject
  • Preference is for older age candidate
  • Finally, if the tie still exists, then a random number will be assigned to the applicant

TNEA Counseling 2020

According to the Merit list prepared by the Anna University, aspirants should attend the TNEA Counselling 2020. The counseling will comprise of five rounds. Applicants will group as per the rank they have obtained. Undoubtedly, applicants should log in to the official portal by entering their respective email id and password for Tthe NEA Counseling process 2020.

Now the candidate has to participate in the choice filling. For this, aspirants must fill a number of choices in priority order which will increase their chances of admission. For participating in choice filling candidates need to pay fees. After choices are filled, applicants need to lock them. In case the candidate fails to lock, then the authority will lock them automatically.
