ICSE Class 10th Board Examination for the year 2018 has been conducted recently by ICSE. The Council for Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) has already declared the timetable for the 10th Board examination of the academic year 2018 – 2019. Now we present to you the syllabus for the academic year 2018-2019 developed in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Board. The syllabus will help you understand the course objectives and aid in effective learning and better exam preparation. We also gave the course objectives which will help in effective learning and better exam preparation. In the syllabus, chapters and topics are ordered semester-wise. It also gives you a fair idea of the question paper pattern for the ICSE Class 10th Board Examination for the year 2019.

There will be two papers in English i.e. Paper 1 & Paper 2 and each of the papers will be of two hours duration.
Paper 1 – English Language
Schools will prepare, conduct and record assessments of the Listening and Speaking Skills of candidates as follows:
Listening Skills: A passage of about 300 words is read aloud by the examiner twice, the first time at normal reading speed (about 110 words a minute) and the next time at a slower speed. Candidates may make brief notes during the readings.
Speaking Skills: Each candidate is required to make an oral presentation for about two minutes, which will be followed by a discussion on the subject with the examiners, for about three minutes. Subjects for presentation may include narrating an experience, providing a description, giving directions how to make or operate something, expressing an opinion, giving a report, relating an anecdote or commenting on a current event.
Paper 2 – Literature in English
There will be one paper of two and a half hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks), Section II (40 marks). Section I will consist of compulsory short answer questions. In Section II candidates will be required to answer four out of seven questions.
The Topics are Commercial Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry Similarity, conditions of similar triangles, Trigonometry Using Identities to solve/prove simple algebraic trigonometric expressions, Statistics – basic concepts, Mean, Median, Mode, Histograms, Mensuration and Probability.
Indian languages papers will be set in the following languages: Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Khasi, Lepcha, Marathi, Malayalam, Mizo, Oriya, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Tamil, Tangkhul, Telugu, Urdu or any other language of an Indian community approved by the Council. There will be one paper of three hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections, Section A and Section B.
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and an Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two parts, Part I and Part II. Part I (30 marks) will contain short answer questions set from the entire syllabus. Candidates will be required to answer all questions. Part II (50 marks) will consist of Section A and Section B. Candidates will be required to answer two out of three questions from Section A and three out of five questions from Section B.
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The question paper will consist of Part I and Part II. Part I (compulsory) will consist of two questions. Question 1 will consist of short answer questions from the entire syllabus and Question 2 will consist of a question based on Map. Candidates will be expected to answer all questions.

The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks) and Section II (40 marks). Section I (compulsory) will contain short answer questions on the entire syllabus. Section II will contain six questions. Candidates will be required to answer any four of these six questions.

The paper will be divided into two sections, Section I (40 marks) and Section II (40 marks). Section I (compulsory) will contain short answer questions on the entire syllabus. Section II will contain six questions. Candidates will be required to answer any four of these six questions. The topics are Basic Biology, Plant Physiology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Population, Pollution, Human Evolution, Plant Life etc.
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two sections A and B. Section A will consist of compulsory questions requiring short answers and will cover the entire syllabus. Section B will consist of questions, which will require detailed answers. There will be a choice and candidates will be required to answer 04 questions from this section.
There will be one paper of two hours duration carrying 80 Marks and Internal Assessment of 20 marks. The paper will be divided into two Sections A and B. Section A (20 marks) will consist of compulsory short answer questions, testing knowledge, application and skills relating to elementary/fundamental aspects of the entire syllabus. Section B (60 marks) will consist of questions based on programming. There will be a choice of questions and candidates will be required to answer 4 questions from this section.
