NOU provides more than 30 UG courses. UG admission 2021 is mainly based on the candidate’s aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying degree/ exam. This also offers more than 20 PG courses. Nalanda Open University (NOU) has more than 100 degree, diploma, and certificate courses for students at UG, PG, and doctoral (Ph.D.) levels. Being an open university, all the courses that are offered in distance mode across nine streams amongst which the most popular streams are Humanities & Social Sciences, IT & Software, and Accounting & Commerce. Also, the university offers short-term courses in subject areas of national importance such as Disaster Management, Yogic Studies, Child & Women Rights, and Abolition of Child Labour.

Nalanda open university: Nalanda open university is based in Patna in the state of Bihar. This is the only open university in Bihar. This university was established in March 1987. It is the only university in Bihar providing education through distance and open education.

It’s the second-largest university in India after Indira Gandhi’s national open university (Ignou). Nalanda university degree/ Diploma/ Certificates are eligible for higher studies, public and private sector employment, and service promotions.

Nalanda Open University has 28 study centers around Bihar and Jharkhand in cities like Jamshedpur and Ranchi. In 1995, the Nalanda open university act passed and the university came under its jurisdiction.

Courses Offered by this Nalanda Open University

This offers UG courses and Diploma courses at the PG level. It offers a Master of Arts(MA) in Magna, Bhojpuri, Rural Development, Economics, Geography, Hindi, History, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Public Administration, Journalism, and mass communication,  B.Ed, and Urdu.

It offers Masters of Computer Application (MCA), Masters of Library and Information Science(one year course), and Masters in Commerce (M. Com).

Post Graduate Diploma Program

It offers PG Diploma Program in Financial Management, Marketing Management, Journalism and mass communication, and Disaster management.

Nalanda Open University Graduate and Degree Program

University offers B.A honors in Economics, Hindi, History, Political science, Psychology, Sociology, social work, Geography, Tourism, and Home science.
It offers a bachelor of commerce, Bachelor of Library and Information science (one-year course), and Bachelor of Computer Application.

Nalanda Open University Certificate Program

The university offers nine months of certificate programs on computing, library science, clinical dental technique, Dental, and oral hygiene, Laboratory Technique, Medical Laboratory Technique, physiotherapy, and yoga Therapy, and Operation Theatre Assistant.

Nalanda Open University Admission 2021

1. Application forms can be submitted in offline mode only.
2. An application form can be obtained by paying a form fee of INR 350.
3. Selection will depend on the marks secured by the candidate in the Bachelor’s degree.
4. If in case the number of applicants will be large in number, the university can conduct an entrance examination for that course.

Nalanda Open University PG Admission Selection Process

Admission is based on applicant performance in their qualifying examinations but if the candidates will be in large numbers, the Nalanda Open University can conduct a written test as a selection process in 1 or 2 courses.

1. Selection will be based on the qualifying exam and marks.
2. If the candidates will be more than the required, then they will have to appear for the entrance test.
