About U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University

This university was established under Act No. 10/1999 passed by U.P.Legislature and it was accepted by the Governor of U.P. on March 24, 1999. The UPRTOU was named after Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purusottam Das Tandon Ji. The university has sculpted for itself a special place among the premier academic institutions of distance mode of higher education. Presently the university offers more than 90 programs with its headquarter located at Allahabad and a network of five regional centers, more than 400 study centers across the state of Uttar Pradesh. The degrees and other programs offered by the university are dully recognized by the committee of UGC, AICTE, and DEC.
