Railway NTPC Recruitment 2019 – Notification, Exam Pattern, Application Process

The Ministry of Railways has opened their gates for Railway job Aspirants for the 2019 Railway Examinations. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) and Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) have announced vacancies for the post of 1,30,000 candidates in NTPC, Para-Medical, Ministerial & Isolated Category and Level-1 Jobs. The Centralized Employment Notice (CEN) divides the 1.3 Lakh Railway Job vacancies for 2019 as follows :

Let us break down each category in terms of Qualification, Eligibility, Exam Pattern and Syllabus :

NTPC (NON-TECHNICAL POPULAR CATEGORIES) VACANCIES :

Education Qualification :

12th Pass or Graduate. All Junior Clerks can be 12th pass from a recognized Government Body. Station Masters, Senior Clerks and Special Clerks like Accounts need to have a Bachelors Degree. Candidates awaiting results for any of the above-mentioned qualifications cannot apply.

Para-Medical Staff

1.    Staff Nurse

2.    Health & Malaria Inspector

6.    Lab Superintendent

 

Educational Qualification :

12th  Pass with a Bachelor of Science (BSc Degree) or Class 12 pass with a 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy. Candidates should fulfill the medical standards required for the respective post. Students awaiting results are not eligible to apply.

Selection Process :

  1. CBT: Computer Based Test which is an Online Examination conducted in Test Centres across the Country
  2. Interview: Qualified candidates after CBT Examinations will be selected for an Interview
  3. Document Verification: After clearing the Interview, Candidates have to submit their original documents for the verification process
  4. Medical Test: After verification of documents candidates may have to go through a Medical Test if applicable

 

Para-Medical Staff Syllabus :

Examination Sections :

  • General Awareness: 30 Marks
  • Arithmetic: 20 Marks
  • General Intelligence / Reasoning : 25 Marks
  • General Science (Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology) : 25 Marks

MINISTERIAL AND ISOLATED CATEGORIES VACANCIES :

 

Ministerial And Isolated Categories

1.    Stenographer

2.    Chief Law Assistant

3.    Junior Translator (Hindi)

 

Educational Qualification: Specialized Qualification Requirement with a higher salary

Examination Sections :

  • General Awareness: 30 Marks
  • Arithmetic Ability: 30 Marks
  • General Intelligence / Reasoning : 30 Marks
  • General Science: 30 Marks

 

Total Questions: 120

Marks: 1 mark for each right answer

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer

Total Time: 90 Minutes (1 hour 30 mins)

LEVEL 1 POSTS VACANCIES :

 

Level-1 Posts

1.    Track Maintainer Grade IV

2.     Helper/Assistant in various technical departments (Electrical, Engineering, Mechanical, and S&T departments)

3.    Assistant Pointsman

4.    Level-1 posts in other departments

 

Educational Qualification: 10th & 12th Students. Specialized Posts require certification in ITI or Diploma in specific Industry.

Examination Sections :

  • Arithmetic /Mathematics: 25 Marks
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Marks
  • General Science: 25 Marks
  • General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 Marks

 

Total Questions: 100

Marks: 1 mark for each right answer

Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for every wrong answer

Total Time: 90 Minutes (1 hour 30 mins)

 

Physical Efficiency Tests are required and have different eligibility criteria for Male Candidates, Female Candidates. PWD (Persons with Physical Disabilities) need not appear for PET but needs to pass the Medical Examination Tests after the CBT Examinations.

 

RRB NTPC Exam Fees

  1. General Category – Rs.500

(Rs. 400 refunded after deducting bank charges appearing for 1st stage of CBT)

  1. SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class – Rs. 250

(Full Rs.250 to be refunded after deducting bank charges after appearing for 1st stage of CBT)

NTPC Application Process

Mode – Online using Official Link via Internet banking or debit/credit cards

  • Read all guidelines before applying
  • Avoid all mistakes and fill up the form carefully
  • After submission, no corrections or modifications can be made
  • Candidates have to upload scanned copies of their documents
  • After submission download & keep a print out of the Application Form

Note: 1 Candidate can only apply to RRB or RRC. Application to more than one RRB or RRC will result in Rejection of the Candidate’s Application.

 

Online Registration Date for Railway Applications

28th February 2019 at 10 am: NTPC

04TH March 2019 at 10 am: Para Medical

08TH March 2019 at 10 am: Ministerial & Isolated Category

12th March 2019 at 10 am: Level – 1 Post

Age: 18 to 32 Years (official age criteria for each individual categories is soon to be announced)
