NVS Admission Eligibility 2021
Navodaya Vidyalaya has some criteria to take admission for the academic year 2021. So, Students must fulfill those criteria to be eligible for NVS admission. Below are some important eligibility listed criteria as per the official website:
- Students who are from the district concerned where the Navodaya Vidyalaya has been opened only are eligible to apply for NVS admission 2021.
- Students who are seeking admission must not have been born before 01-05-2007 and after 30-04-2011 (Both days are inclusive). As, this will apply to students of all categories, including those who belong to the SC / ST.
- The decision of the medical board in regards to students’ fitness will be treated as final.
- Students who are appearing for the selection test must be studying in Class-V for the whole of the academic session 2019-20 in a Government or Private recognized Institute / School
- Students must have complete Class-V in the session 2019-20.
- Actual admission in Class-VI for the session 2021 will be subject to the mentioned condition.
For Rural Applicants:
- A student seeking admission under the rural quota must have studied in Classes-III, IV, and V completing full academic sessions from the Government / Government Aided / Government recognized school (s) located in rural areas. However, the applicant should study a full academic session in Class-V from the same district where admission is asked.
- At least 75% of the seats in a district will be filled by students selected from rural areas and remaining seats will be filled from the urban areas of the district.
- Students studying under the schemes of the National Institute of Open Schooling should produce their rural status certificate issued by District Magistrate / Tehsildar / Block Development Officer.
For Urban Candidates:
Students who have studied in a school located in an urban area even for a single day of session in Class-III, IV, and V will be considered as urban candidates. Urban areas are those which are so defined in the 2011 census or through a subsequent Government notification. All other areas will be considered as rural.
For Transgender Candidates:
No separate reservation for transgender category students is provided and they will be included in the Boys category for reservation purposes, under various sub-categories such as Rural, Urban, SC, ST, and Divyang.
NVS Admission Documents Required

JNVST Registration 2021
- The students who are eligible along with his / her parent may approach Common Service Centre with duly filled in certificate from the Head Master of School where the Student is studying in Class V.
- Students who are from NIOS, So, they can also obtain a `B’ certificate and their residence should be in the same district where they are seeking admission.
- Students need to Mention the date of birth in words and numbers. As they need to Write the correct Date of Birth only per school records. If it is observed at a later stage that the Date of Birth of the Student does not match with the school records the student will be rejected.

NVS Cutoff Marks 2021
NVS after the final release of the answer key released the cut-off mark category wise list for the appeared students. However, It is the minimum marks student have to get eligible for the next round of admission. Also along with it, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya released the criteria for the waiting list.
NVS Merit list 2021
Merit list is the list of candidates, who has cleared the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test and is eligible to get admission in the selected respective Navodaya School. So, if candidate sees their name in the NVS merit list then, they should continue to the next round of securing their seat by reporting to the JNS and paying the fee for the academic session.
