What Is National Scholarship Portal – Eligibilty, Rule Status And Important Steps

Scholarships are the financial aid provided to the deserving student. Generally, these
scholarships are given by the private entities or by the public, i.e., government funded. We have
shared various schemes provided by the Government of India under the NSP. Under National
Scholarship Portal, there's a list of scholarship schemes offered by Central Government, State
Government, UGC (University Grants Commission) and AICTE. The primary function of National
Scholarship Portal is not limited to only sharing scholarship scheme information, but it's a one-
stop solution for the scholarship-deserving students, where they can apply, track and receive
the funds directly in their bank account.
Eligibility – An applicant is eligible if he falls under in one of these rules.
1. Applicant should have cleared his class XII in the current year only, i.e., applications of
students have rejected those cleared XII in previous years.
2. Applicant must be from North-Eastern states – Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur,
Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Nagaland, and Tripura.
3. Applicant's Income should not be more than 4.5 lacs.
4. Applicants must have enrolled in public institutions; no private/deemed students can apply
for this scholarship scheme.
5. No matter, if the student is pursuing a dual degree or integrated courses.
6. Distance course students can't apply for this scholarship.
Rules –
1. The validity of the scholarship provided by National Scholarship Portal gets void if the
applicant fails in any of the term-end examinations or the final year examination.
2. Only courses that fall under the category of the general degree, professional, technical,
medical and paramedical (including MBBS, BAMS, BDS, B.Arch., B.Tech.etc.).
3. Education Institution, in which the applicant's enrolled are allowed to monitor the funds and
check whether the student is eligible or not for scholarship
4. Applicant once enrolled in this portal, cannot apply for any other award.
Amount of scholarship – For applicants, pursuing general degree courses, are awarded 5,400
INR per month, or if they are a mid-career and pursuing professional degree courses, then they
need to pay around 7,800 INR per month.
Note –
This system ensures that there are no duplicate records of the application, students can apply
for the scholarship easily including the verification process – AADHAR card, students eligibility,
whether the student belongs to that institution or not.
