Ministry Of Minority Affairs Scholarship: MOMA Scholarship is an initiative to help Indian minority students form the Prime Minister. In this scheme, the Government of India provides financial help to those poor students who belong to Minority Sectors or Minority communities like Parsis, Sikh, Christians, Buddhists. Who are not able to do further study for their bright future only due to poverty. About 20,000 candidates get the benefits to continue their education with the help of the MOMA Scholarship.

How Many of MOMA Scholarship Are
There are Three Types of MOMA Scholarship:
Pre-Matric Scholarship
Initiated to support minority Candidate’s studies at the pre-matric level, the MOMA Scholarship awards up to INR 600 monthly to students of class 1 to 10. To be qualified to apply for this pre-matric minority scholarship, aspirants’ family income must not be more than INR 1 Lakh, and their score in the previous final examination should not be less than 50%.
Post-Matric Scholarship
Post Metric Scholarship Scheme, those Candidates of Govt, as well as Suitable Private Colleges / Universities / Institutions of India, will be awarded Scholarships who want to continue their Study for Higher Education. Many Aspirants leave their study after the Class 12th, especially Girls only due to lack of money for higher research, which is much costlier than Basic Education. It will also cover the Technical as well as Vocational Courses in Industrial Training Institutes / Industrial Training Centers affiliated with the NCVT.
The main objective of this MOMA Scholarship is to award the meritorious aspirants who belong to economically weaker sections and to help them to pursue education from class 12 to PhD and Technical / Vocational Courses for developing their PG skills.
Means Cum Merit Scholarship
Mean cum Merit Scholarship Scheme; those candidates can take financial Support who belongs to minority communities and wanna pursuing the professional and technical courses. Those aspirants belonging to belonging to Minority communities wish to continue or want to pursue UG, PG, technological and professional courses.

MOMA Scholarship Eligibility & Criteria
Pre-Matric Scholarship :
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must be studying in class 1 to 10
- Candidates must have scored tab least 50% marks in the previous final exam.
- Family Income: The annual income of the candidate’s parents or guardian musty not exceed INR 1 lakh.
Eligibility & Criteria For Post-Matric Scholarship:
- Educational Records: Candidates who are going to apply should have marked 50% or above in the previous final examination.
- Annual Income: The annual income of the student’s parents or guardian should be less than Rs. 2 lakh. The Scholarships to provided in the ascending order from the lowest order from BPL Families.
- Only two candidates from every family can take advantage o this scholarship.
- Reservation for Female Students: 30% of the MOMA Scholarship reserved for girl students.
Eligibility & Criteria For Means Cum Merit Scholarship
- Those students who have taken admission to a recognized college to pursue technical/professional courses, by a competitive examination
- Candidates should have a minimum of 50% marks at graduation level to be eligible aspirants.
- The selection of eligible candidates will be assigned strictly on merit basis for MOMA Scholarship.
MOMA Scholarship Rewards
Those candidates who selected for this minority scholarship receive financial assistance for the entire course in the admission form, course/tuition fee, and maintenance allowance. The maintenance allowance is given to candidates for 10 months in an academic year.

How To Apply Online MOMA Scholarship
If a candidate is eligible for any of these minority scholarships, then, they can apply for it online through NSP. Follow the given below to fill the minority scholarship application form.
- Candidates need to register themself in they are the user in National Scholarship Portal with all correct details or click here.
- Aspirants have to fill them correctly with the details required. Such as Aadhar number, school/college Enrolment no., Bank details and the state of Domicile.
- Candidate’s, the application ID is generated based on their domicile state.
- The application ID used as Login ID on NSP and future references
- Aspirants need to select the relevant scholarship category they are applying for
- Then, candidates must fill the details like name, DOB, email, Mobile No.
- After filling these details, the applicant will get an OTP using which applicants login and fill the form.
- Candidates must upload all the necessary document and the form
- Save it for further use.
Instruction for Filling Bank Details for MOMA Scholarship
- Candidates need to select the name of their bank/branch correctly form the list
- Candidates first need to get their bank account no. and IFS code verified by their concerned
- If the account number is wrong, then, the scholarship will be cancelled
- Aspirants must check the status of their KYC.
- The bank accounts must be in the name of the candidates
- If the transaction failed, then, the Ministry of Minority Affairs will not be responsible.
Selection Process for MOMA Scholarship
Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme:
Applicants applying for this minority scholarship are selected based on their financial condition. The older candidate is preferred for the scholarship in case of a similar family income.
Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme:
Applicants applying for this minority scholarship are selected based on their economic condition. In the case of similar financial conditions, the preference is given to the older candidate.
Merit-Cum-Means Scholarship Scheme:
Candidates are selected for this scholarship based on merit, i.e., percentage/marks of last academic course / higher secondary graduation exams.
Renewal Policy and Duration for MOMA Scholarships
Scholarships provided to the selected candidates may renew in the next academic year of the course. The national Minority Scholarship renewed when the aspirants pursue the same course in the same institution. To get a scholarship to renew, aspirants, need to submit a certificate to prove that they have secured at least 50% marks in the previous year’s examination.
Duration
- Selected students receive the scholarship for the entire courses
- Maintenance allowance is given annually as a fixed lump sum amount

The management declares the result of these minority scholarships in November and December (Tentative).
