Jadavpur University B.Sc. Admission Eligibility Criteria
For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Geological Sciences | Eligible Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with the science stream and must have Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as a combination. They must acquire at least 75% marks on an average in these three subjects.
In the case of OBC-A/ OBC-B, the required average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be 67.5%
In case of SC/ST/Sports category/PD, the required average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be 56.2%. The PD candidates with minimum disability of 40% are allowed. |
For Geography | Eligible Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with the science stream and must have Mathematics along with any two subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Geological Sciences and Geography as a combination. They must acquire at least 70% marks on an average in these three subjects.
In the case of OBC-A/ OBC-B, the required average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be 63%
In case of SC/ST/Sports category/PD, the required average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry will be 52.5%. The PD candidates with minimum disability of 40% are allowed. |
*Important: Any student that have passed the Bachelor Degree from a recognized university is not eligible for this admission in the Jadavpur University B.Sc. Honours Course.
Jadavpur University B.Sc. Admission For Sports Category students
The students with the Sports Category admission must have these additional eligibility conditions along with the academic ones.
For the AIU recognized games and sports (the detailed list of recognized sports are available on their website the student must possess:
- Participation record in interstate competition not before 01-01-2016.
Or
- The student must secured 1st/2nd/3rd position in an individual event or must be a member of the Champions team or Runners Up team in a team event/games/sports in an inter-district competition not before 01-01-2016.
For Tennis: A student is eligible who has an AITA ranking within 300 for under 18 boys/ girls and ranking within 500 for open (Men/ women) category. These students can apply for this course under sports quota.
For Chess: A student with FIDE rating 1700 and above is eligible to apply for this course under sports quota. He or she must possess the above-mentioned criteria as well!
The sports quota holder students must obtain a participation certificate from the competent authority. They must submit attested photocopies of this admission certificates along with a photocopy of payment receipt challan along with other necessary documents to the Dean and Secretary, UG Science Building, Ground Floor, Jadavpur University, Kolkata 700032 on or before 23rd June 2018 between 11 AM to 5 PM.
Jadavpur University B.Sc Admission For PD Category students
Students with a minimum 40% or above disability are eligible for the admission under PD category as per the PWD Act, 1995.
The PD quota holder students attested photocopies of the disability certificate from the relevant authority along with a photocopy of payment receipt challan along with other necessary documents to the Dean and Secretary, UG Science Building, Ground Floor, Jadavpur University, Kolkata 700032 on or before 23rd June 2018 within 5 PM. They can submit the documents by a person or can send by post.

Jadavpur University B.Sc Admission Selection Process
There will be no Admission Test. All the admissions will be done purely as per the marks obtained in Higher Secondary or equivalent 10+2 examinations.
Incomplete admission forms will be summarily rejected during the screening of admission forms.

For the bunching of marks in the merit list for the last candidate will be done as per below:
For Mathematics | In the case of bunching of marks, first, the marks of Mathematics in 10+2 level will be considered. After that, if bunching of marks needed to be considered, then the marks obtained in Physics at 10+2 level will be will be considered along with the marks obtained in Mathematics at 10+2 level. |
For Physics | In the case of bunching of marks, first, the marks of Physics at 10+2 level will be considered.
