Though most of the class 10 students must have decided the stream or course to pursue after 10th even before the declaration of results of their board examinations, still there would be some students who are confused about the choice of right course. Actually, selecting the right course after class 10 is not an easy task as it will affect your prospective career. For a successful career, careful planning and a well carved path are a must. The selection of the stream/course after class 10th depends upon the student’s aptitude, grade and marks. But the most important factor is one’s keen interest in the subject and the purpose for selecting the course.

Class 11th/12th/Degree
If you want to fly high in life then this is the best choice for you. After 10th, the most natural step ahead is class 11 then class 12 than any degree. 10+2 in Science/Arts/Commerce.
Most of the job needs a Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum educational qualification required. In order to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree course, you must have completed 10+2 in the first place.
You have 3 options for 10+2: Science/Arts/Commerce. Based on your aptitude and passion, you may choose an appropriate stream and go ahead with your studies and then get a job in that particular field.
Diploma in Engineering
Diploma in Engineering is one of the Courses After Class 10th. For this, you must have had mathematics and science subjects in your class 10th. Diploma in Engineering programs are 3 years long. Various types of Diploma Engineering courses are available in India: Mechanical / Electrical/ Civil/Electronics & Communication/ Mining/ Metallurgy/ Computer Science/ IT/Leather Technology/ Textile etc. After your Diploma, you may secure admission directly into the second academic year of B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) or B.Tech. (Bachelor of Technology) the course as a lateral entry.
ITI
ITI stands for Industrial Training Institute and it is one of the Courses After Class 10th. ITIs offer job oriented training programs. The main aim of an ITI is to instill skills in students. Thus, ITIs raise a skilled workforce and helps them find employment.
Course duration depends upon the nature of the course. Generally, it is for 1-2 years. Some prominent ITI training programs are – Electrician/ Plumber / Welder/ Turner/ Mechanic / Machinist etc.

Vocational Courses
Polytechnic Colleges and ITIs and other educational institutes are known to offer job oriented vocational courses. Such programs could be Diploma or certification courses: Diploma in Hardware and Networking/ Paramedical courses etc.
Certificate Courses
There are also numerous certification programs, which 10th passed students may pursue. A few examples of such courses are web designing/ ethical hacking/ Graphic design/ App development etc.
